SkyTutor is a personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring service based on video calls (e.g. Skype) using your computer webcam so your student can learn from anywhere on a more flexible schedule.

If you've never used video calls, we can help you get set up

All you need is a computer with an internet connection and a webcam (they're usually built right into modern laptops - If you don't have a webcam, we may be able to get started anyway, and set one up as we proceed).

You simply Sign up here to reserve your preferred half hour time slots for the week, and be at your webcam equipped computer when it's time for the lesson.

Schedule and Pricing -- OPEN SLOTS are available now.  Discounts are available for the next few timeslot request signups in August

You can reserve a regular session time long term, or you can plan a limited set of 10 sessions, to get your child a boost of confidence or to master a particular problem they are having difficulty with.

To Sign Up, enter your contact information and Day/Time preferences on the Wait List [here]

We take students of all ages, but specialize in Elementary school grades.

Our primary focus is Math -- helping younger students master the concepts in ways they can understand (we're currently taking students through 10th grade and basic Algebra; more in the future).

English tutoring is also available for students of all ages, from preschool Reading lessons, to Adult ESL help (English as a Second Language).

(Other subjects may be available on request.)

The primary tutor is Keith Edwards.

With degrees in physics and computer science he worked for many years as a professional engineer and has taught children throughout his life in various capacities (currently as a volunteer reading teacher at his daughter's school).

Keith taught his daughter to read comfortably at age 2 [video], and at age 5 she is doing 4th grade math.  Keith now teaches others via video calls to maintain a flexible schedule for raising his own daughter.

For families interested in Summer study at home, there are many good (and many weak) programs and online sites, but I particularly recommend you try out Khan Academy (at for its ability to track which topics have and have not been mastered.
